Discontinuing Evernote Personal & Professional / Introducing Starter & Advanced — FAQ

To better serve our customers and support Evernote’s ongoing evolution, we’ve introduced two new individual plansStarter and Advanced—to replace the current Personal and Professional subscriptions. These new plans were designed to match a wide range of usage needs, from light to intensive.

Beginning in July 2025, customers on Personal and Professional plans have been transitioned to the new Advanced plan at their next renewal. This article answers the most common questions and requests related to this change.

What is Evernote Starter and Advanced?

These new individual plans are the result of years of platform development and feedback from customers like you:

  • Evernote Starter is perfect for casual or occasional users looking to manage a modest amount of content across a few devices.
  • Evernote Advanced is designed for power users with extensive content, multiple devices, and more complex workflows.

Both plans support popular Evernote features such as video/image/audio transcription, web clipping, mobile capture, and AI-powered tools like AI Edit and Transcribe.

Why are the prices changing?

Evernote has been modernized and streamlined to ensure long-term reliability, performance, and innovation. With the introduction of Starter and Advanced, we’ve retired the older Personal and Professional plans to offer a more flexible structure aligned with current user needs.

As part of a gradual rollout, users are being migrated to the new plans. As per Evernote’s Commercial Terms:

  • We will notify you in advance of any changes to your recurring subscription fees.
  • Price changes will take effect no sooner than your next scheduled billing date.
  • If you do not agree to the new price, you can cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect. This cancellation will apply at the end of your current billing cycle.
