When you cancel your Evernote subscription (Personal or Professional), your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing cycle. After that, your subscription will be canceled, and your account will automatically revert to Evernote Free.

You won't lose your contents

None of your data will be lost, and you will retain access to all your notes and notebooks, even if you cancel your subscription and your account is downgraded to Free. If your account is downgraded to Free and you have more than 50 notes, you won’t be able to create new notes. However, you can still view, edit, export, and delete your existing notes and notebooks.

The steps to cancel your subscription and prevent more automatic payments may vary depending on your payment method:

  • Credit Card, PayPal, or SEPA

    1. Log in to your Account Settings via Evernote Web.
    2. Select Billing from the left-hand side menu.
    3. At the bottom of the Billing page, select Cancel your Evernote subscription.
    4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Continue to cancel.
    5. Provide a reason for canceling the subscription.
    6. Click the Cancel subscription button.
If you're using an older subscription system and the above steps don't apply, please follow these instructions instead:
    1. Log in to your Account Settings in Evernote Web.
    2. Select Manage subscription on the Account Summary page.
    3. Select Evernote Free (a free Evernote account).

In case you don't see an option "Evernote Free" to select in the above steps and your subscription is through Paypal, you can directly cancel the automatic recurring payment via Paypal.

Upon successful cancellation, you'll receive an email confirmation. You can also verify the cancellation by checking the Billing History section in your Evernote Account Settings: if you see the Restore button, that indicates that your subscription has been successfully canceled and won't renew.

Please note that we’re currently making updates to improve our billing and payment system. As a result, you may experience some limitations in accessing your complete billing history (your past invoices may be temporary unavailable or you may face an error message when accessing the Billing section of your account settings) . We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during this time. If you need help cancelling your subscription, please feel free to contact us.
