Troubleshooting steps for issues with Web Clipper

If you are experiencing issues with Evernote Web Clipper, try these troubleshooting steps.

General Pre-Check

  • Ensure that you have the latest version installed for your browser.

Issue: Web pages not clipping or incorrectly clipped

If certain web pages do not clip or appear differently than expected, this may be due to complex designs, interactive content, or multimedia elements (like videos or audio) on the original page.

Suggested solution:

  • Switch clip types: try different clipping options, such as Article, Simplified Article, and Full Page, to determine which provides the best result.
  • Select content manually: highlight the specific content you want to clip before opening the clipper.
  • Capture a screenshot: use the screenshot option to capture the desired content.
  • Check browser settings:
    • Ensure third-party cookies are allowed and that Evernote is whitelisted in your browser settings.
    • Temporarily disable any ad-blocker extensions.
  • Clear browser cache: Clear the cache in your browser to eliminate potential issues.
  • Sign out and back in: Log out of your Evernote account and then log back in.
  • Try a different page: Attempt to clip a different web page to see if the issue persists.
