Activity logs contain detailed information about Evernote’s processes, helping our support team diagnose specific issues with the Evernote app or Evernote Web. These logs include device, account, and potentially location data if enabled. They may also contain titles of notes, tags, notebooks, and some content if network syncing issues occur.
Privacy note: You can review and edit logs to remove any details before sending them. All log data is treated as confidential, per our Privacy Policy.
Send an Activity Log
Follow the steps below to send an activity log, based on your device.
Mac
Option 1: From the Evernote App
- Open Evernote, go to Help > Activity Logs > Save As... in the menu bar.
- Click Save.
Option 2: Manually Retrieve Logs (if the app isn’t accessible)
- Open Finder.
- Go to Go > Go to Folder in the top menu and enter
~/Library/Application Support/Evernote/logs
.- If the logs aren’t there, try:
~/Library/Containers/com.evernote.Evernote/Data/Library/Application Support/Evernote/logs

Windows
Option 1: From the Evernote App

iPhone and iPad
- Tap your profile icon in the top-left corner to open the menu.
- Go to Help > Activity log > Share.
- Email the log to yourself, this will allow you to download and attach it to your reply when contacting Support.
Android
- Tap your profile icon in the top-left corner to open the menu.
- Go to Help > Activity log > Share.
- Email the log to yourself, this will allow you to download and attach it to your reply when contacting Support.
Evernote Web
Option 1: From the Web Interface
- Click your profile icon (or your name/email) in the top-left corner to open the menu.
- Hover over Need help? to view options.
- Select Save activity logs and confirm by clicking Save.
Option 2: Console Logs (if the interface isn’t accessible)
- If you’re unable to access logs through the Evernote Web interface, please provide your console logs.
