Export notes
Using Evernote for Mac or Windows, you can export a copy of any note and save it to your computer. When exporting a note, all note content, including attachments and tags, will be saved to an Evernote XML (.enex) file. For quicker exporting, you can export entire notebooks.
Export your notes to:
- Create backup copies of your content
- Merge the contents of two Evernote accounts
- Move notes from a personal account to a business account

To export notes, follow the steps for your operating system below.

Mac
The new Evernote for Mac- Click on a note or hold down the command key and click to select multiple notes.
- Right-click on selected note(s) and select Export....
- Rename the export file, if desired.
- Click Save.
- Click on a note or hold down the command key and click to select multiple notes.
- Right-click on selected note(s) and select Export Note(s)....
- Make sure Evernote XML format (.enex) is selected.
- Optional. Check 'Include tags for each note' if you want to import the tags.
- Click Save.

Windows
The new Evernote for Windows- Click on a note or hold down the Ctrl key and click to select multiple notes.
- Right-click on selected note(s) and select Export....
- Rename the export file, if desired.
- Click Save.
- Click on a note or hold down the Ctrl key and click to select multiple notes.
- Right-click on selected note(s) and select Export Note(s)....
- Select Export as file in ENEX format (.enex) from the menu and click Export.
- Choose the file name and location, then click Save.
