Create a new Evernote Teams account

By default, when you create a new Evernote Teams account, you become the account admin. After you’ve invited your team, you can designate someone else to be the account admin or you can even have multiple admins. Account admins have access to the admin console to view team-wide settings, manage team content, and invite team members to join. Learn more >>

To get started:

  1. Go to the Evernote Teams website and click Get Started.
  2. Fill out the form with your full name, the name of your team, your team email address, and an account password.

Note: If you already have an individual Evernote account (Free, Personal, or Professional) and you'd like to upgrade to Teams, please note it's not currently possible to upgrade any of these individual accounts to a Teams one. You can, however, follow the steps above to create a new Teams account. When you sign up for Evernote Teams, our system will walk you through creating a brand new, Teams-only account.

Suppose you already have an individual Evernote account and would like to use the same email address associated with that account for your new Teams account. In that case, you’ll be prompted to sign in and choose a different email address for your existing individual account so you can free up the desired email for the new Teams account.

Payment Options

Evernote Teams account admins can choose between three different options for paying for their Teams account:

  • Monthly by credit card

Your credit card will be charged for each seat as soon as the Evernote Teams account is created, and your credit card will be automatically charged the full monthly price each time a user joins your account. Each month, your card will be charged one lump sum payment for all users in your account at that time.

  • Annually by credit card

Your credit card will be charged for each seat as soon as the Evernote Teams account is created, and your credit card will be automatically charged the annual pro-rated price each time a user joins your account. Each year, your card will be charged one lump sum payment for all users in your account at that time.

  • Annually by invoice

Only available in some countries for Evernote Teams accounts with 5+ seats. When paying by invoice, seats are pre-purchased on a yearly basis. You will be emailed an invoice, which can be paid by check or bank transfer. Your invoice is due upon receipt.

Note: Evernote Teams can only be purchased on Evernote.com and is not available through iTunes or Google Play.

Payment Methods

We offer two different options for paying your Evernote Teams subscription: credit card or invoice. Use the table below to help determine which payment method is best for your team.

  Credit Card Invoice

When will I be charged? How often will I be billed?

You can choose a monthly or yearly billing period. Your card is charged at the beginning of each billing period for the number of users in your Teams account.

You request an invoice for a specific number of seats. Your invoice is due upon receipt and can be paid by check or bank transfer.

To ensure efficient handling of the invoice we will be sending to you, please provide the email address of the individual who handles all account and billing related inquiries at your company.

Are there any restrictions?

There is no minimum number. You can start with 1 seat.

Your Teams account must have a minimum of 5 seats to be eligible for invoicing.

Invoicing is only available in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and United States.

Can I start using my Evernote Teams account right away?

As soon as you set up your Teams account, your credit card will be charged for the number of seats you requested. You can start using Evernote Teams right away.

In most cases, you can start using Evernote Teams right away. In some situations, you may need to verify some information in order to be activated immediately.

Will I be charged when I add users to my Evernote Teams account? What happens if I add a new user in the middle of my billing period?

If you have a monthly billing period, your credit card will be charged the full one-month price on the day the new user joins your Teams account, regardless of where that day falls in the monthly billing cycle.

If you have a yearly billing period, you will be charged a pro-rated amount to the next higher month on the day the new user joins your Teams account. For example, if you add a user with 9 and a half months to go in your billing cycle, the charge will be pro-rated to 10 months.

The charge for each added user co-terminates with the payment due date for your entire Teams account.

You can add users up to your seat limit with no additional charge.

To increase your seat limit, you can submit a request to a Teams Account Executive from the 'Account Summary' page of the admin console. The Account Executive will increase your seat limit and email you an invoice for the extra seats, typically within one business day.

The charge for each added user co-terminates with the payment due date for your entire Teams account. If you increase seats in the middle of the year, you will be billed a pro-rated amount to the next higher month. For example, if you add a user with 9 and a half months to go in your billing cycle, the invoice will be pro-rated to 10 months.

What happens when a user leaves my Evernote Teams account?

The next time your subscription renews, you will not be charged for this user.

One seat will become available in your account. You can invite someone else to take that seat in your account. You will not be refunded for unused seats.

For billing purposes, what counts as a user?

Each individual that is joined to your account is considered a user, and will be charged as such.

You are not charged for outstanding invitations that were sent.

Each individual that is joined to your account will count against your seat limit.

Outstanding invitations to join your team account also count against your seat limit, since each invitation is a reservation for one seat.

When will my subscription renew?

The day that you create your Evernote Teams account becomes the first day of the billing period for your team. For example, if you create your account on September 10th and choose to pay monthly via credit card, then your credit card will be charged on the 10th of each subsequent month.

The day that you create your Evernote Teams account becomes the first day of the billing period for your team. For example, if you create your account on September 10th and choose yearly invoicing, then your next invoice will be due on September 10th of the next year.
