How to: Change Your Evernote Account Login Email Address

Evernote uses an email address, rather than a username, to uniquely identify you as an account holder. When you first register for Evernote, you are asked for an email address. This email is what you will use to log in to your Evernote account and can be changed from your Account Settings.
If you need to update your Evernote account login email address, please follow the steps below to make sure everything goes smoothly:

  1. Go to the 'Security Summary’ page in your Account Settings.
  2. Select Change Email beneath the email address shown in the Email Address section
  3. Enter your password to authorize changes and enter a new email address.
  4. Select Change email to save changes and to return to the account settings page. A confirmation email will be sent to the new address. You must click on the link in the confirmation email to verify your new email address.
IMPORTANT:

Your email change is complete only after you see a confirmation screen that says Email Changed. This screen explicitly confirms that your email was changed successfully and appears after clicking the Verify email address link in the email you received.

If after clicking Verify email address, you’re taken to a login page instead, please log in using your old email address. Once logged in, you’ll see the Email Changed confirmation screen, and you can then start using your new email.

 

Please note:

  • If you are not receiving the email notification to update your email address, please follow the troubleshooting steps detailed in this article.
  • If you receive a message that the email address is already in use, you most probably have another Evernote account under that email address already. Please refer to this article.

Evernote Teams

Your Evernote Teams email address cannot be used for an individual account, as it is specific to Teams. If you'd like to use your former Teams account email address for an individual account, you will need to contact the Teams admin to change your Teams account email to a different one.
