Import content from other apps into Evernote

You can bring your existing notes, documents, and data from other apps into Evernote by exporting your content from those apps and uploading the exported files into Evernote.

How to import files and convert them into an Evernote note

  1. Download the Evernote desktop app and log in.
  2. Click on your profile icon/name, then choose Settings.
  3. Go to Import.
  4. Drag and drop or browse files to import your notes.

Note:

  • When you import .pdf, .txt, .html, .md, or .docx files through the Import section in Settings, they will be converted into editable notes in Evernote.
  • If you drag and drop any file other than an .enex file directly into your note list, the file will be uploaded and added to a new note as an attachment, rather than being converted into note content.
  • You cannot import content into Evernote using a mobile device.
