Here's a guide on how to update your credit card details or switch to a different payment method on your Evernote account.

Update or add a credit card

If you currently pay by credit card and want to update the card on file (e.g., because your card expired or you got a new one):

  1. Navigate to your Billing page.
  2. Next to Payment Method, select Edit.
  3. Enter your new credit card information and select Update.

Your next subscription renewal will be charged to the newly entered card.

If your subscription is managed via Google Play, PayPal or Apple, you will need to update your credit card on file in Google Play, PayPal or Apple directly.

Note for BRL users: If your payment currency is set to BRL, you may encounter issues when attempting to update your credit card details. If the issue persists, cancel your current subscription and wait for your account to downgrade to the free plan. You can then resubscribe using your preferred payment method. Your notes will remain safe throughout this process.

If your account is on an older payment system, follow these steps instead:

  1. Go to Account Settings in Evernote Web and select Account Summary.
  2. Next to Account Level, select Manage Subscription.
  3. Select your preferred plan and billing period.
  4. Enter your updated credit card information and select Confirm Update.

Switch to a different payment method

The options available to you depend on your current payment method:

From credit card to PayPal, Google Play or Apple

If you wish to switch your payment method from paying directly to Evernote via credit card to paying via Google Play, Apple or PayPal, you must first cancel your subscription.

Wait until your current subscription expires before you can switch payment processors. Once your account has reverted to Evernote Free, you can purchase a new subscription in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, or subscribe from our website and choose PayPal at checkout.

From Google Play or Apple to credit card

If you're already subscribed to a paid service through Apple or Google Play but want to switch to paying directly to Evernote via credit card, you must cancel your subscription through the third-party processor first and wait for your account to downgrade. You may then follow the steps above.

From PayPal to credit card

If you're already subscribed to a paid service through PayPal but want to switch to paying directly to Evernote via credit card, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to your Account Settings in Evernote Web.
  2. Navigate to the Billing page in the left panel.
  3. Next to Payment method, select Edit.
  4. Enter the details of your new credit card.
  5. Select Update.

Your next subscription renewal will be charged to the newly entered card.
