Mobile subscription price updates (iOS App Store & Google Play)

We’re updating the price of some legacy Evernote subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). If you’re affected, Apple or Google will notify you and show the new price and effective date before it takes effect.

Note: This only applies to subscriptions billed by Apple or Google. If you subscribed on evernote.com (web billing), this article doesn’t apply.

What you’ll see

App stores handle price changes in two ways:

  • Consent required (Opt‑in): You must approve the new price to keep your subscription.
    • This is common in certain countries/regions (including Austria (AT), Germany (DE), Poland (PL), and South Korea (KR)), and may also occur based on local store rules.
  • Notice-only (No consent required): You’ll be notified, and your subscription renews at the new price automatically unless you cancel.

Notification timing varies based on your billing period (monthly vs annual) and local store rules, so you may see the notice closer to your renewal date.

iOS (Apple App Store)

If you’re asked to approve the new price

  • You need to accept the price change in Apple’s subscription settings to stay subscribed.
  • If you don’t accept, your subscription will end at the end of your current billing period (it won’t renew at the new price).

How to approve (iPhone/iPad):

  • SettingsApple IDSubscriptionsEvernote → follow the prompt to review/accept

(or App Store → profile icon → Subscriptions)

If you only received a notice

  • No action is required to keep your subscription.
  • The new price applies on your next eligible renewal unless you cancel.

Android (Google Play)

If approval is required

  • You must accept the new price in Google Play to keep your subscription.
  • If you don’t accept, Google Play will cancel the subscription before charging the new price.

How to approve (Android):

  • Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptionsSubscriptionsEvernote → review/accept

If you only received a notice

  • No action is required to keep your subscription.
  • You can cancel before the renewal date to avoid being charged the new price.

Common questions

Can I keep my old price?

No. If your legacy mobile subscription is affected, the app store will apply the updated price at renewal. Your options are to accept (when required) or cancel before renewal.

Where can I see my new price and renewal date?

In your device’s subscription management screen:

  • iOS: SettingsApple IDSubscriptionsEvernote
  • Android: Play StorePayments & subscriptionsSubscriptionsEvernote

I didn’t get a notice yet. Why?

App-store notices are typically tied to your renewal date and required notice windows. If you’re impacted, you’ll see the new price in the store UI when it’s time.

Can Evernote issue refunds for App Store / Google Play charges?

Purchases billed through Apple or Google are managed by the app store. Refund requests generally need to go through Apple or Google Play.

If you’re not sure where you subscribed (App Store, Google Play, or web), check your subscription screen in the store or your purchase receipt email.
