Why did I receive an email stating that my Evernote account may be deleted due to inactivity, even though I use my account frequently?

Please follow the steps below to check which email address is associated with your Evernote account.

  1. Check the email address you received from us by opening the email.
  2. Copy and paste the email address into the sign-in page to verify if you have another Evernote account linked to that address. This is important because the notice you received could be related to a different account, such as an alias email address, especially if you're using Gmail or Apple. Even if the email appeared in the same inbox as your primary Evernote account, it may still be tied to a separate account.

Important notes for Gmail users:

  • Gmail does not differentiate between emails with or without dots in the address (e.g., ever.note@gmail.com and evernote@gmail.com are treated the same by Gmail).
  • Similarly, @gmail.com and @googlemail.com are considered the same.

However, our system treats these as separate accounts, so please check if you're logged into the correct one.

For Apple users:

  • If you’re using an Apple device and signed up via Sign in with Apple, you might have enabled Hide My Email. To find the email used:
    1. On mobile, go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Hide My Email.
    2. On PC, go to System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud > Hide My Email.
    3. Look for Evernote in the list and copy the corresponding email address, which will look like this: ---@privaterelay.appleid.com.
    4. Try logging into Evernote with that email.
