Enable notifications for Evernote

In order to receive notifications from Evernote, you must allow Evernote to send notifications to your device. Notifications should be enabled for each device and/or browser where you use Evernote. Enabling notifications will allow you to:

  • Get notified when reminders are due
  • Receive messages about notes and notebooks shared with you
  • Learn more about Evernote

Enable notifications

  • Mac

    To receive notifications from Evernote on Mac devices, you must enable them through your device settings. To do that, follow these steps:

    1. From the menu bar, select the Apple menu > System Preferences > Notifications.
    2. In the app list, scroll to Evernote and toggle the switch next to Allow Notifications from Evernote.

  • Windows

    To receive notifications from Evernote on Windows devices, you must enable them through your device settings. To do that, follow these steps:

    1. Select Start > Settings > Notifications & actions.
    2. In the app list, scroll to Evernote and toggle the switch to On.

  • iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

    To receive notifications from Evernote on iOS devices, you must enable them through your device settings. To do that, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Settings app.
    2. Go to Notifications.
    3. In the app list, scroll to Evernote and turn on the toggle next to Allow Notifications.

  • Android

    To receive notifications from Evernote on Android devices, you must enable them through your device settings. To do that, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Settings app.
    2. Tap Notifications.
    3. Under "Recently Sent," tap Evernote.
    4. Next to "Show notifications," toggle the switch on (blue).

  • Web

    To receive notifications from Evernote Web, you must enable notifications through your web browser settings. Steps for the most common web browsers are outlined below.

    To enable notifications for Evernote in Chrome, follow these steps:

    1. Open Chrome on your computer.
    2. Choose Chrome > Preferences... from the menu bar.
    3. Under "Privacy and security," select Site settings > Notifications.
    4. Next to "Allow," click Add. Enter "www.evernote.com" and click Add.

    To enable notifications for Evernote in Safari, follow these steps:

    1. Open Safari on your computer.
    2. Choose Safari > Preferences... from the menu bar.
