Filter your notes

There are several ways you can apply filters to your notes and searches.

Filter your entire notes list or notes in an individual notebook

  • Desktop: Click the filter icon (funnel) at the top right of the notes list and select from the options in the Add Filters box. To remove filters from your note list, click Clear All in the upper right corner of the "Add filters" box.
  • Mobile: Tap the filter icon (funnel) at the top right of the notes list. Select your filters and tap Done to apply. To remove filters, tap Clear All at the bottom of the "Filter notes" screen.

Add a filter when executing a search in the search bar

  • Filters may appear in the search dropdown based on the type of content you have. Alternatively, you can type the name of the filter into the search bar, then click or tap on the filter name to apply it. Note that the filter will not appear if you do not have notes with that type of content.

Narrow your search results by adding filters after executing a search

  • Apply filters to search results by clicking the filter icon at the top right of the note list.
  • To help you find what you're looking for even quicker, Evernote will show suggested filters when applicable at the top of the note list after you perform a search or add a filter.
