Leave an Evernote beta version

If you're currently participating in an operating system-specific beta version, and would prefer to use the current general release of Evernote, follow the steps for your operating system below.

  • Mac

    1. Open the Evernote beta app and select Notes to check for any unsynced notes (marked with a gray sync icon in the corner of the note list).
    2. Once you have verified that all of your notes are synced (no gray sync icons visible), uninstall the beta app.
    3. Download and install the regular Evernote app from evernote.com/download.
  • Windows

    1. Open the Evernote beta app and select Notes to check for any unsynced notes (marked with a gray sync icon in the corner of the note list).
    2. Once you have verified that all of your notes are synced (no gray sync icons visible), uninstall the beta app.
    3. Download and install the regular Evernote app from evernote.com/download.
  • iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

    If you installed a preview through App Center:

    1. Delete the Evernote preview app (indicated by the black app icon).
    2. Open the Settings app, navigate to General > Profiles, then remove the Evernote profile by tapping Evernote > Remove Profile.
    3. Resume using the regular Evernote app installed from the App Store.

    If you installed a beta through Apple TestFlight:

    1. Open TestFlight and tap on the Evernote listing.
    2. At the bottom of the page, tap Stop Testing, confirm, then exit the TestFlight app.
    3. Delete the Evernote beta app (indicated by the black app icon).
    4. Reinstall Evernote from the App Store.
  • Android

    1. Open the Play Store app.
    2. Search for Evernote, then tap the Evernote icon to open the app details page.
    3. Scroll down to the beta tester section.
    4. Tap Leave, then wait to be removed from the beta program (this can take up to 30 minutes).
    5. Uninstall Evernote from your device.
    6. Reinstall Evernote from the Play Store.


    Note: If you don’t uninstall and reinstall Evernote after leaving the beta program, you will still be using the beta version of Evernote until the next general app update becomes available.
