Accessing Your Notes When Reaching the Device Limit for Free Users

Evernote Free users are limited to one connected device at a time. Once you hit this limit, you'll get a pop-up asking you to unsync a device if you'd like to continue using your account from your current device. You should see a green button in the middle of the pop-up that reads Unsync a device. Clicking on it will allow you to proceed.

Here's how you can manage your devices and ensure you always have access to your notes:

How to Check and Manage Your Devices

  1. Go to Account Settings:

    • Open Evernote on any device where you're logged in.
    • Click on your profile or account name.
    • Select Account Settings.

  2. View Device Limit:

    • Under the Device Limits section, you'll see a list of all devices currently synced with your Evernote account.

  3. Remove a Device:

    • To free up space for a new device, you can remove one of your existing devices.
    • Click Remove Device next to the device you wish to disconnect.

  4. Sync Notes on New Device:

    • After removing a device, you'll be able to log in to your Evernote account on a new device and sync your notes.

Upgrading for More Devices

If you'd prefer not to manage your devices manually, consider upgrading to Personal, Professional or Teams. These plans allow you to sync Evernote across an unlimited number of devices.

Important: Free users will always be able to access their notes and files without a paid subscription. You just need to ensure you’re within the device limit.
