If you reach the limit of the maximum number of devices that can be linked to your Evernote account, you can either upgrade your subscription plan or unlink one (or more) device(s). You can learn more about the current limits by having a look at our Compare plans page.
To upgrade your plan, please visit this page to have a look at the currently available subscriptions and included features.
It's important to note that, while revoking and unsycing a device both serve the same purpose of disconnecting/unlinking a device from your account, they are different actions and are performed differently.
Revoking
Revoking a device has no monthly limitations. You can revoke devices as many times as you'd like, even if you're a Free user.
Revoking a device can only be done from the Devices settings. If you're on a desktop, you can simply click on the linked Devices page to revoke any devices. Otherwise, you can follow the instructions for specific platforms outlined below:
-
Mac, Windows and Web
- Click your profile icon in the upper left corner.
- Select Account Info...
- Go to Devices > Select Revoke for the device you want to disconnect.
-
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android
- Tap your profile icon in the upper left corner.
- Then click on your name.
- Select Devices.
- Select the device to disconnect and click Disconnect selected device > Proceed > Done.
Unsycing
Unsycing is linked to the in-app pop-up that appears for Free users who have more than 1 device currently synced to their account.
To proceed and access your Evernote account, you should click on the green text that reads Unsync a device.
IMPORTANT:
- Free users are currently limited to 10 unsyncs per month. However, if you run out of your 10 monthly unsyncs, you will still be able to revoke any of your devices as many times as you'd like.
- Evernote Web counts as 1 device.
