Upgrading an individual account

You can upgrade your individual account by following this sequence: Free > Personal > Professional.

Important: At this time, it is not possible to upgrade an individual account (Free, Personal, or Professional) directly to a Teams account.

To learn more about transitioning to a Teams account, please refer to this article: Upgrade to Teams.

Upgrade from Personal to Professional

To upgrade from a Personal to a Professional plan, follow the steps for the payment method associated with your existing subscription below.

  • Credit card, PayPal, or SEPA

Upon upgrading, you will be charged the new subscription fee immediately, with any remaining months on your prior plan refunded on a prorated basis. Note that if you're presently on an annual plan, you can only switch to another yearly option.

For Mac, Windows, and Web users:
    1. Log in to your account settings in Evernote Web.
    2. Click the green Upgrade button found on the Account Summary page.
    3. Select Professional.
    4. Confirm your billing details and proceed to checkout.

Notes: Android, iPhone, and iPad users making payments via Evernote’s website, must conduct upgrades through a desktop web browser. Evernote’s billing page isn't compatible with mobile browsers. Please note that you must have an ongoing subscription in order to upgrade. If you receive an error message saying that you can't upgrade, it means that your current subscription has been set to cancel. Therefore, you should first restore your ongoing subscription by clicking on the Restore button next to your Billing History section.

    2. Tap View Upgrade Options or Upgrade to Professional.

  • Gift service (Points or Gift code)

Unfortunately, customers currently on a paid service plan through Evernote points or a gift code cannot switch to a different service tier. If you wish to upgrade, please contact Support to have your gift code invalidated.
