Unable to create new notes due to account limitations

Free accounts

Evernote Free users are limited to a maximum of 50 notes and one notebook per account.

If you’re a Free user and are unable to create new notes despite having fewer than 50 notes, try these steps:

  1. Empty the trash: Deleted notes in the Trash still count towards the 50-note limit. To free up space:
    • Navigate to your Trash and permanently delete any unwanted notes.
    • Once your Trash is empty, try creating new notes again.
  2. Verify notebook limits: Free users can only maintain one notebook. If you have multiple notebooks, consolidate your notes into a single notebook:
    • Open each notebook, select all notes, and move them to your primary notebook.
    • Make sure you have only one notebook with all your notes to stay within the Free account limits.

Paid accounts (Personal and Professional)

For Evernote Personal and Professional subscribers, there is a note limit of 150,000 notes. If you are a paid user and unable to create new notes:

  1. Check your total note count: Confirm that you haven’t reached the 150,000 notes limit by reviewing your account settings.
  2. Remove unwanted notes: If you’re approaching the limit, consider deleting notes you no longer need, then empty the Trash to free up space for new notes.

By following these steps, you should be able to manage your note creation within your account's limits.
