In some cases a full reinstallation of your Evernote app may help with resolving a technical issue.
Before performing a full reinstallation, we suggest making sure that all your notes appear correctly on Evernote Web.
If the issue occurs on a Windows machine:
- Click the 'Windows' button to open the Start menu.
- In Windows 11, select All apps and search for Evernote.
- In Windows 10, look for Evernote in the list shown.
- Press and hold (or right-click) on Evernote, then select Uninstall.
- Download and install an uninstaller software of your choice, then use it to remove any files associated with Evernote. This step is crucial for ensuring the complete removal of Evernote from your system.
- Open File Explorer
- Search for %AppData%
- Look for any Evernote folders or files and delete them
- Reinstall Evernote by downloading it from our website
If the issue occurs on a Mac:
- Open the Applications folder and drag Evernote to the Trash
- Download and install an uninstaller software of your choice, then use it to remove any files associated with Evernote. This step is crucial for ensuring the complete removal of Evernote from your system.
- As an alternative to the uninstaller software, in the Finder on your Mac, choose Go > Go to Folder.
- Type "~/Library/Containers" and double-click the destination folder.
- Delete any files or folders related to Evernote.
