The sidebar and the navbar are where you can navigate around your Evernote account and access your account settings.

 

Sidebar (Desktop / Web)

These are all the available sections of the sidebar:

  • Search notes: Search your notes for keywords, locations, tags, and more.
  • New Note: Create a new text note in the current notebook.
  • New Task: Create a new task.
  • New Event: Create a new event.
  • Home: Display all your widgets.
  • Shortcuts: Access your favorite notes, notebooks, or tags quickly.
  • Notes: Display all notes from all notebooks in the note list.
  • Tasks: Display all tasks from all notes in the task list.
  • Files: Display all files/attachments from all notes in the file list.
  • Calendar: Display a calendar view of all your Evernote events and integrated calendars.
  • Templates: Display all templates from all notebooks in the note list.
  • Notebooks: Display all notebooks.
  • Tags: Display all tags.
  • Shared with Me: View all notes and notebooks that have been shared with you.
  • Spaces: Display all your spaces.
  • Trash: Display all notes that have been deleted.
  • More: Display all hidden sections and easily access the sidebar customization.
  • Collapse: Collapse the sidebar.
  • Expand: Expand the sidebar.

Customize your Sidebar

You can customize your sidebar based on your preferences, choosing which sections to display and which to hide. You have different options to do so:

1. Open Settings, then go to Preferences > Sidebar.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and click More > Customize sidebar.Progetto senza titolo (2).png

Note: From the sidebar customization settings, you can also enable or disable the More button.
The More button is only displayed if at least one icon is hidden from the sidebar.

3. In the desktop app, right click on an item directly from the sidebar to hide it.

Navbar (Mobile)

These are all the available sections of the navbar:

  • Create: Search your notes for keywords, locations, tags, and more; create a new note, a task, an event, a notebook, and more; record audio, capture an image, scan a document, or upload files.
  • Notes: Display all notes from all notebooks in the note list.
  • Notebooks: Display all notebooks.
  • Shortcuts: Access your favorite notes, notebooks, or tags quickly.
  • Tasks: Display all tasks from all notes in the task list.
  • Calendar: Display a calendar view of all your Evernote events and integrated calendars.
  • Tags: Display all tags.
  • Shared: View all notes and notebooks that have been shared with you.
  • Templates: Display all templates from all notebooks in the note list.
  • Spaces: Display all your spaces.
  • My widgets: Display your widgets.
  • More: Display all hidden sections.

Customize your Navbar

You can customize your navbar based on your preferences, choosing which sections to display and which to hide. To do so:

  • Open the profile menu by tapping on the profile icon located in the top left corner of the app. Then open Settings > Navigation > Customize navigation.
