Configure a Fujitsu ScanSnap to scan to Evernote

Some Fujitsu ScanSnap scanners can be configured to scan directly into Evernote using Fujitsu's ScanSnap Home software. Scanned documents will become instantly accessible and searchable in Evernote on all your devices.

Scanning into Evernote using Fujitsu's ScanSnap Home software and ScanSnap Cloud service works with the following Fujitsu ScanSnap models:

  • iX1600
  • iX1500
  • iX1400
  • iX500
  • iX100
  • SV600
  • S1300i
  • S1100i

Note: If you are using a ScanSnap scanner with ScanSnap Manager software, follow the steps in the section titled "Configure ScanSnap Manager to scan to Evernote" at the end of this article.

Get Started

There are a few things you need to do before you can begin to configure your Fujitsu scanner to scan to Evernote:

  1. Download and install the ScanSnap Home software
  2. Create a free ScanSnap account
  3. Configure your scanner for wireless scanning during the ScanSnap Home setup

Configure ScanSnap Home to scan to Evernote

After you download and install ScanSnap Home, but before you can begin scanning and saving to Evernote, you must configure your ScanSnap Home settings.

1 Open ScanSnap Home by clicking on the application icon in one of the following locations:
  • Dock or Applications folder (on Mac)
  • Taskbar or desktop (on Windows)

2 Click the cloud mode icon (letter ‘S’ in a cloud), then click the blue Scan button.

Note: If this is your first time scanning using this software, you will be prompted to sign into your ScanSnap account. After signing in, close the Account window to return to ScanSnap Home and click the blue Scan button again.

3 In the "ScanSnap Home - Scan" window that opens, click the Edit profiles icon in the upper right corner (half-circle with pencil), then click the Scan to Cloud tab.,

Note: If this is your first time scanning using this software, a pop-up should appear asking you to set a profile. Click Set to go to the profile editor.

4 Under the “Scan settings” section, click the Selecting... button next to the “Service name” field.

5 Select Evernote from the list then click Select. A web browser window will appear and you will be asked to sign into your Evernote account to authorize ScanSnap Cloud.

6 Authorize ScanSnap Cloud to access your account. Then, go back to ScanSnap Home.

7 When you’re asked if you want to set the same service for all document types which are not set yet, click Set. This applies Evernote to be the “save to” destination for each of the document types: documents, business cards, receipts, and photos.

8 If the connection is successful, you should see Evernote in the “Service name” field for each document type.

9 Click Save to save your configuration settings.

Scan to Evernote

Once you've configured the settings above, ScanSnap Home will automatically send your scans based on the document type to the following notebooks in Evernote:

  • Documents → Documents
  • Business Cards → Cards
  • Receipts → Receipts
  • Photos → Photos

2 Click the cloud mode icon (letter ‘S’ in a cloud).

3 Load your document into the scanner.

4 Press the scan button on your scanner. The color of your button may vary depending on your scanner model.

5 After the scan is completed, open Evernote and your scan will be saved in the notebook specified in your scanner configuration settings.

Note: If you don’t see the note right away, try syncing or reloading Evernote. If it’s not appearing in the expected notebook, try looking at the first note in your "All Notes" list.

Configure ScanSnap Manager to scan to Evernote

If you are using a ScanSnap scanner with ScanSnap Manager software, follow the steps in the table below.

Step Action
1 Download and install the Fujitsu ScanSnap Manager software.
2 Right-click on the ScanSnap Manager icon in the taskbar (on Windows) or in the dock (on Mac).
3 Select Settings or Scan Button Settings.
4 Uncheck the 'Use Quick Menu' box.
5 From the Profile menu, select Scan to Evernote (Document) to save as PDF or Scan to Evernote (Note) to save images inside of a note.
6 To create and change settings for searchable text, select the Detail menu to show advance settings, then choose the File Option tab and check the 'Convert to Searchable PDF' box.
7 Click Apply and OK to save your settings.
8 Load your document into the scanner, then press the scan button on your scanner.
