What if I don't see the option to install the Evernote for Outlook add-on or the add-on is greyed out?

The Outlook Clipper add-in is built for Outlook 2016 (Mac and Windows), Outlook 2013 (Windows), Outlook 2010 (Windows), Outlook.com, and Office 365 with an email that is hosted on a Microsoft Exchange server.

If you do not see the 'Manage Add-Ins' or 'Manage Apps' option, please check the following:

  • Admin has restricted add-in access: Check with your email administrator to see if they have restricted users' settings to prohibit loading an add-in. This is a fairly common situation and your email administrator can provide you with access to add-ins for the Outlook Clipper add-in.
  • Outlook/Exchange server prohibits add-ins: Some Exchange server setups prohibit add-ins. Check with your email administrator for more details.
  • On-premise Exchange environment: At the moment, the add-in is not supported with a terminal or on-premise servers environment.
  • Using Outlook email client, but not Microsoft Exchange: Outlook is an email client, not an email provider. Your email must be hosted on a Microsoft Exchange server in order to enable the Outlook integration with Clipper. If you're not sure what you're using, check with your email administrator.

Why do I have Evernote for Outlook in my iOS or Android app, but I didn't enable it there?
