Advanced tips for Evernote Business
Save emails into Evernote
Forward any important communications, documentation, weekly automated reports, or other email right into your Evernote account by sending to your unique Evernote email address. Evernote automatically organizes the note, or you can specify a notebook with the @ symbol or a tag with the # symbol. For example, Subject: Hotel Confirmation @travel #japan.
Capture webpages using Web Clipper
Download and install Evernote Web Clipper in your web browser to clip and store a collection of useful or inspirational webpages, articles, images or PDFs. Web Clipper automatically organizes the clipped content into Evernote based upon your related notes, or you can set your own default notebook and tags.
Add reminders to notes to create alarms
To set up reminders, click (or tap) the reminder (alarm clock) button while viewing or editing a note and decide whether you want to set it up with or without an alarm.
Use a shortcut to quickly open your frequently-viewed notes, notebooks, stacks, and saved searches. Just drag the item onto the shortcuts area on the navigation menu.
Search for notes by tag, checkbox, source app, date, and more
In addition to being able to search for typed and handwritten text in your notes, images, scanned PDFs and documents, you can use advanced search parameters to search for notes more precisely. Search for notes created in Skitch (sourceApplication:skitch.*), with a specified tag (tag:mytag), with incomplete checkboxes (todo:false) or many other recipes. Save the search to re-use it quickly in the future.
Use the Evernote camera to snap and crop documents, business cards, and Post-it® Notes
Use your Evernote camera on your mobile device to capture perfect images of receipts or documents, business cards, and Post-it® notes. Snap a photo of any light document on a dark surface or a dark item on a light surface and Evernote will automatically crop the edges and adjust the brightness.
The camera works great with the Evernote Smart Notebook by Moleskine.
Create a saved search for all your most frequent or complex searches. Just perform the search, then save and access it any time with just one click. You can even drag a saved search onto the Shortcuts bar.
Add and update office documents
Drag a batch of files right into Evernote. Right-click or Control-click on the file inside a note to view or rename it. Edit any file in your usual program and then save it right back into the note.
Use keyboard shortcuts
Make your Evernote experience even faster and more seamless by learning the many keyboard shortcuts available. Save a few seconds every time you make a new note, switch views, search, or one of dozens of other common functions using just the keyboard.
Annotate attached PDFs
Quickly review and annotate any PDF, screenshots, and images that are attached to a note. Use stamps, drawing, and other tools to provide feedback.
View previous versions of notes
A few times a day, Evernote takes a snapshot of all changed notes. You can review and roll back to previous note versions on your computer by opening the note info and selecting View History.
Share multiple business notebooks with a coworker
You can invite one person in your company's Evernote Business account to view, modify, and share one or more of your business notebooks. This could be particularly useful when onboarding new employees or sharing a set of notebooks related to a specific project or client.
Create a table of contents note to reference other notes
A Table of Contents in Evernote is a note with a list of links other notes. Create a table of contents in Evernote for Mac or Windows to make it easier to find related notes all in one place.
Easily share your notes as presentations (Mac, iOS, and Windows Desktop)
To turn any note or group of notes into a full-screen presentation, simply click (or tap) the Present button at the top of the note editor window.
Merge multiple notes into a single note
If you’d like to combine the contents of multiple notes together, you can easily merge them into a single note. Simply select all the notes from the notes list and click Merge.
