Rotate images inside a note

To rotate an image inside of a note, follow the steps for your operating system below.

• Mac

  The new Evernote for Mac

  1. Click on an image from inside a note and select the pencil icon above the image, or right-click and select Annotate this Image from the pop-up menu.
  2. Tap the rotate button (square with a curved arrow) until the image is oriented as desired.
  3. Tap Save to save the changes.

  Older version of Evernote for Mac

  1. Right-click the image you'd like to rotate and select Rotate Clockwise or Rotate Counterclockwise.
  2. Repeat Step 1 until the image is oriented as desired.

• Windows

  The new Evernote for Windows

  1. Click on an image from inside a note and select the pencil icon above the image, or right-click and select Annotate this Image from the pop-up menu.
  2. Tap the rotate button (square with a curved arrow) until the image is oriented as desired.
  3. Tap Save to save the changes.

  Older version of Evernote for Windows

  1. Right-click the image you'd like to rotate and select Rotate Clockwise or Rotate Counterclockwise.
  2. Repeat Step 1 until the image is oriented as desired.

• iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

  The new Evernote for iOS

  1. Tap the image you'd like to rotate.
  2. Tap the annotate button (letter 'a' inside of a circle).
  3. Tap the rotate button (square with a curved arrow) until the image is oriented as desired.
  4. Tap Done to save.

  Older version of Evernote for iOS

  1. Tap the image you'd like to rotate.
  2. Tap the Share button (box with upward arrow).
  3. Tap Save Image to save the image from Evernote to your device.
  4. Open the Photos app, tap the image, tap Edit, tap the cropping tool button, then tap the box with the curved arrow above it to rotate your image until it's oriented as desired, then tap Done.
  5. Open Evernote, choose the note you'd like to add the rotated image to, then tap the camera button and select Add from Photos to insert the newly-rotated image inside your note.

• Android

  The new Evernote for Android

  1. Tap the image you'd like to rotate.
  2. Tap the annotate button (letter 'a' inside of a circle).
  3. Tap the rotate button (square with a curved arrow) until the image is oriented as desired.
  4. Tap Done to save.

  Older version of Evernote for Android

  1. Tap the image you'd like to rotate.
  2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) in the top-right, then tap Save to Downloads.
  3. Open the 'Gallery' application on your Android device and select your image from the download folder.
  4. Tap Rotate Left or Rotate Right icon until your image is oriented as desired
  5. Open Evernote, choose the note you'd like to add the rotated image to, then tap the paperclip icon and select Attach > Photo to insert the newly-rotated image inside your note.
