How to merge multiple notes into a single note
Merging notes is very simple. In Evernote for Windows or Mac, select multiple notes by holding down Ctrl+click on Windows or Cmd+click on Mac, then select Merge Notes in the window that appears beside the notes list. This will combine the selected notes into a single note and place the original notes in the 'Trash' notebook. If you would also like to retain the original notes as individual notes, or if you mistakenly merge notes, you can restore each individual note from your 'Trash' notebook.
How are merged notes sorted?
Evernote for Mac
- Merged notes are sorted in the same order as they are listed, as specified by the Sort by: options (for example: "Title," "Date Created," "Date Updated," and more).
- The new note takes the title of the topmost note listed.
Evernote for Windows Desktop
- Merged notes are sorted in the order the notes are selected for the merge, with the contents of the first note displayed at the top and the contents of the last note selected displayed towards the end of the note.
- The new note takes the title of the first note you selected for the merge.
