Create shortcuts

Shortcuts are a quick way to access most frequently used content in your Evernote account. Create a shortcut to notes, notebooks, notebook stacks, tags, or saved searches. Each of these shortcuts are marked by different icons in the navigation menu.

  • Windows

Right-click on the note, notebook, notebook stack, or tag in the list, and select Add to Shortcuts from the pop-up menu. You can also drag items in and out of the Shortcuts list to add or remove them from the list.

  • iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Open a note or a notebook, tap the options button (three dots), then tap Add to shortcuts. For tags, open the navigation menu and select Tags, then swipe left on a tag and tap Add to shortcuts.

  • Android

  • Web

The new Evernote Web: Click more actions (three dots) button in the top right corner of a note or notebook and select Add to shortcuts.

Note: You cannot add tags to shortcuts in the new Evernote Web.

Older version of Evernote Web: Hover over a note, notebook, or tag in their respective lists, then click the star button.

To add a saved search to your shortcuts: When creating a new saved search, check the box next to "Add this saved search to Shortcuts". If you've already created the saved search, run it, click the three dots at the top of the note list panel, click Edit saved search..., then check the box to add it to shortcuts.
