Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need to login with SSO to access personal notes and notebooks?

No. You can login and access your personal notes and notebooks at anytime without needing to log in with SSO. You only need to login to SSO to access business notes.

If SSO is enabled, why can’t I save notes from Skitch, Penultimate, or other apps into my business notebooks?

Currently only Evernote supports SSO, and can save and access notes in business notebooks. If you’re using Skitch, Penultimate, or other applications without SSO, you can only save and access content in personal notebooks.

How can I tell if SSO has been enabled?

Once your company enables SSO for your company’s Evernote account, you should be notified by an Evernote account admin.

Please contact your IT administrator or Evernote account admin if you haven’t received any notifications.

Do I have to log in to SSO each time I launch Evernote?

No. When  your IT department sets up SSO, they can configure it so that you can remain signed in for a specified number of days.

How does SSO work with two-step verification?

If your company has decided to make SSO a requirement, you‘ll still be able to use two-step verification to access personal notes and notebooks.

If your company enables two-step verification for business notes, you’ll be required to go through a second two-step verification process before you can access business notes.
