How to specify a notebook for files scanned with ScanSnap Evernote Edition scanner

The ScanSnap Evernote Edition Scanner scans items directly into a notebook in your Evernote account and, optionally, into a local folder on your computer. When you set up your ScanSnap Evernote Edition Scanner for the first time, you are prompted to select notebooks for each document type: documents, receipts, photos, and business cards. The scanner automatically detects each type of file and organizes it into these preferred Evernote notebooks and, if desired, adds a tag.

Change the notebooks for scanned files

  1. Open Evernote for Mac or Windows Desktop
  2. Open the settings from the menu bar (Mac: Select Evernote > Preferences... > ScanSnap; Windows Desktop: Select Tools > ScanSnap Options...)
  3. Select the file type you would like modify
  4. Update the 'File to notebook:' field with the notebook where you want to save scanned files

Set up ScanSnap Evernote Edition to save to a folder on your computer

  1. Select the ScanSnap icon from your computer's menu bar to open the ScanSnap Manager software
  2. Select the Settings (wheel) button
  3. Select Settings > General, check Save copies of scanned files to:, and select a folder on your computer where you want to save scanned items
  4. Select the Do not send scanned file to Evernote checkbox
  5. Close the ScanSnap Manager (Mac: Close the settings dialog box; Windows Desktop: Click Apply before closing the box) and scan a few items to verify everything works the way you want it to
