Upgrade to Professional

To upgrade to a Professional plan, follow the steps for the payment method associated with your existing subscription below:

  • Credit card, PayPal, or SEPA

When you upgrade, you will be charged the price of the new subscription immediately and will be refunded a prorated amount for any remaining months on your previous subscription. If you’re currently on an annual plan, you will only be able to upgrade to another annual product.

    Mac, Windows, and Web:
    1. Log in to your account settings in Evernote Web.
    2. Click the green Upgrade button on the ‘Account Summary’ page.
    3. Choose Professional
    4. Double-check your billing information and continue to checkout.

Note: For Android, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch users paying via Evernote’s website, upgrades should be completed via a computer web browser. Evernote’s billing page is not supported on mobile browsers.

  • iTunes

    Mac:
    1. Click Upgrade in the left navigation menu.
    2. Choose the plan and billing frequency that best meets your needs.
    3. Enter your Apple ID and password to continue.
    4. Click Buy to complete your payment through the App Store.

Note: You will only be able to complete the upgrade through the Mac App Store.

    iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch:
    1. Tap the three lines in the bottom left corner to open the menu.
    2. Tap View Upgrade Options or Upgrade to Professional.
    3. Choose the plan and billing frequency that best meets your needs.
    4. Follow the prompts to complete your payment through iTunes.

Note: You will only be able to complete the upgrade through iTunes on iOS.

  • Google Play

    Android:
    1. Tap the three lines in the bottom left corner to open the menu.
    2. Tap View Upgrade Options or Upgrade to Professional.
    3. Choose the plan and billing frequency that best meets your needs.
    4. Follow the prompts to complete your payment through Google Play.

Note: Due to Google Play Store limitations, you will only be able to upgrade to a plan with the same billing frequency as your current subscription. For example, if you are currently subscribed to a monthly Personal plan, you will only be able to upgrade to a monthly Professional plan.

  • Gift service (Points or Gift code)

Unfortunately, customers currently on a paid service plan via Evernote points or a gift code will not be able to upgrade to a different service level.

Downgrade to Personal

Your subscription won't change until your current billing cycle ends. Once your subscription runs out, your account will automatically be downgraded. None of your data will be lost, and you will maintain access to all of your notes and notebooks.

To downgrade, follow the steps for the payment method associated with your existing subscription below:

Change billing frequency

  • Switch between monthly and annual payments

    1. Log in to your account settings in Evernote Web, then click Billing.
    2. Next to Billing Period, select Update.
    3. Choose the new billing frequency (monthly or annual) and select Update.

Please note that your new plan will be activated once the current one expires.

Update payment information

  • Update or add a credit card or PayPal payment method

    1. Go to your account settings in Evernote Web, then click Billing.
    2. Next to Payment Method, select Update.
    3. Enter your new credit card information and select Update.

Note: If you subscribed to paid service through iTunes or Google Play, you must cancel your subscription through them and wait for your account to downgrade. You may then follow the steps above.

  • Switch to iTunes or Google Play

You must wait until your current subscription expires before you can switch payment processors. Once your account has reverted to Evernote Free, you can purchase a new subscription using your preferred payment processor.
