How to use note history to view older versions of a note

Note history is only available to Evernote Premium and Business users.

Note history allows you to view older versions of a note. Notes in your account are automatically backed up periodically, and note history allows you to view and/or restore these older revisions.

To access note history:

  • Mac

    1. Open a note
    2. Click the menu button (three dots) at the top right of the note editor
    3. Click Note Details... > View History
  • Windows

    1. Open a note
    2. Click the info button (letter 'i') at the top right of the note editor
    3. Click View history
  • Evernote Web

    1. Open a note
    2. Click the menu button (three dots) at the top right of the note editor
    3. Click View note info... > View History

To restore a previously saved version of the note, click Import next to the note title. The restored version will appear in the Imported Notes notebook. Import does not overwrite or change the current version of the note.
