Use note history to view older versions of a note
Note history allows you to view older versions of a note. Notes in your account are automatically backed up periodically, and note history allows you to view and/or restore these older revisions.
Note: This feature requires a Premium, Personal, Professional, or Teams subscription.
To access note history, follow the steps for your operating system below.

Mac
- Open a note.
- Click the options button (three dots) at the top right of the note editor.
- Click View note info... > View History.
- Click on the date to preview and find the note version you want to restore.
- Click Export to download the note as ENEX file.
- Use the Evernote desktop app to import the ENEX file into your account.
Older version of Evernote for Mac- Open a note.
- Click the menu button (three dots) at the top right of the note editor.
- Click Note Details... > View History.
- Click on the date to preview and find the note version you want to restore.
- Click Import to restore the note.
The restored version will appear in the Import... notebook. Import does not overwrite or change the current version of the note.

- Open a note.
- Click the options button (three dots) at the top right of the note editor.
- Click View note info... > View History.
- Click on the date to preview and find the note version you want to restore.
- Click Export to download the note as ENEX file.
- Use the Evernote desktop app to import the ENEX file into your account.
Older version of Evernote for Windows- Open a note.
- Click the info button (letter 'i') at the top right of the note editor.
- Click View history.
- Click on the date to preview and find the note version you want to restore.
- Click Import to import the note into your account.
The restored version will appear in the Imported notes notebook. Import does not overwrite or change the current version of the note.

- Open a note.
- Click the menu button (three dots) at the top right of the note editor.
- Click View note info... > View History.
- Click on the date to preview and find the note version you want to restore.
- Click Export to download the note as ENEX file.
- Use the Evernote desktop app to import the ENEX file into your account.
Older version of Evernote Web- Open a note.
- Click the note info button (i), and select View History.
- Click on the date to preview and find the note version you want to restore.
- Click Export to download the note as ENEX file.
- Use the Evernote desktop app to import the ENEX file into your account.
Note: If you don't use or are unable to access Evernote desktop application, you can copy and paste the content from the version in the note history into a new note.
