Add a file

Any type of file can be attached to a note, as long as the total size of the note with attachments included does not exceed the note size limit of your account. To attach a file, follow the steps for your operating system below.

  • Mac

    Evernote for Mac

    1. Open an existing note or create a new note.
    2. Click on the blue plus sign icon in the note editor or simply type "/" and select Attachment to manually attach a file.
  • Windows

    Evernote for Windows

    1. Open an existing note or create a new note.
    2. Click on the blue plus sign icon in the note editor or simply type "/" and select Attachment to manually attach a file.
  • iPhone and iPad

    Evernote for iOS

    1. Open an existing note or create a new note.
    2. Tap the Edit button.
    3. Tap on the blue plus sign icon at the top left of the keyboard.
    4. Tap on Attachment to manually attach a file.
  • Android

    Evernote for Android

    1. Open an existing note or create a new note.
    2. Tap the Edit button.
    3. Tap on the blue plus sign icon at the top left of the keyboard.
    4. Tap on Attachment to manually attach a file.
  • Web

    Evernote Web

    1. Open an existing note or create a new note.
    2. Drag and drop the file from your computer onto the note body or click on the blue plus sign icon in the note editor and select Attachment to manually attach a file.
