Add a file

Any type of file can be attached to a note, as long as the total size of the note with attachments included does not exceed the note size limit of your account. To attach a file, follow the steps for your operating system below.

  • Mac

    Evernote for Mac

    1. Open an existing note or create a new note.
    2. Click on the blue plus sign icon in the note editor or type "/" and select Attachment to manually attach a file. You can also simply drag and drop files.
  • Windows

    1. Open an existing note or create a new note.
    2. Simply click or double-click on the note to edit it.
    3. Tap on the blue plus sign icon at the top left of the keyboard.
    4. Tap on Attachment to manually attach a file.
