How to clip web pages and content from Android and iOS devices

Evernote for Android and iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch come installed with extensions so you can easily share web pages and other supported app content on Android and iOS devices. From any browser on your device which comes with sharing options, access your sharing settings and select Evernote as the sharing destination.

Steps to setup webclipping on iOS

  1. Tap the iOS sharing button, then tap More to edit your sharing options.
  2. Tap the Evernote switch to add Evernote as a sharing extension. Evernote will appear in the list of apps your device can share to.
  3. Tap and drag Evernote if you'd like to move it to the front of the list.

Clip and save web pages to Evernote

  1. Open any browser on your device
  2. Tap the iOS sharing button or the Share option from the options menu on your Android device (usually indicated by three vertical dots).
  3. Select Evernote from the list of sharing options.


Unless you choose otherwise, pages will be saved as full articles to the default notebook. If you want to change the destination notebook, add tags, or save only the URL, tap the elephant button that appears after you share to Evernote.

Once you've tapped Save, the web page is saved to Evernote in the background. You have the option of selecting a notebook to save the clipped note to in Evernote.

Another way to share web content on your mobile device is to forward the URL via email into Evernote.

Copy and paste web content into Evernote

You can copy and paste most of the contents of a website right into Evernote.

  1. Open a webpage inside your mobile browser
  2. Press and hold somewhere on the content to show the text selection options
  3. Drag the selection up or down to select the portion of the page you want to copy
  4. Let go and select Copy
  5. Switch over to Evernote and start a new note
  6. Tap and hold in the text editor area, then select Paste
  7. All the content from your selection will appear inside the new note
