How to change the sort order of your notes

Evernote offers several options which you can sort your list of notes by. The sort order is an application-wide setting, so all notebooks, search results, and other note lists are all sorted the same way. You cannot set different sort orders for different groups of notes.

  • Mac

    1. Click the note view button (grid-like rectangle) near the top of the note list.
    2. Select 'Sort by: Date Updated' (it may show a different option), then choose a sort setting.
  • Windows

    1. Click the note view button (grid-like rectangle) near the top of the note list.
    2. Select 'Sort notes by', then choose a sort setting.
  • iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

    1. Tap the options button (three dots) at the top of the note list.
    2. Choose a sort setting under the 'Sort By' heading.
  • Android
