Share a copy of a note via email

When you share a copy of a note via email, you’re sending a snapshot of the note at the time you share it. Any content changes that you may make will not be visible to anyone you've previously shared the note with. To share a copy of a note via email, follow the steps for your operating system below.

• Mac

  The new Evernote for Mac

  1. Open the note you would like to share.
  2. Click the green Share button.
  3. Click Email a copy.
  4. Enter the recipient's email address and include an optional message.
  5. Click Send.

  Older version of Evernote for Mac

  1. Right-click on the note you would like to share.
  2. Select Share Note.
  3. Click the More Sharing button then select Email a copy...
  4. Enter at least one email address (or select at least one contact) and include an optional message.
  5. Click Send.

• Windows

  The new Evernote for Windows

  1. Open the note you would like to share.
  2. Click the green Share button.
  3. Click Email a copy.
  4. Enter the recipient's email address and include an optional message.
  5. Click Send.

  Older version of Evernote for Windows

  1. Right-click on the note you would like to share.
  2. Select Share > Send a Copy.
  3. Enter at least one email address (or select at least one contact) and include an optional message.
  4. Click Send.

• iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

  1. Open the note you would like to share.
  2. Tap the Share Note button (silhouette with a plus sign).
  3. Tap More sharing options and select Email copy of note.
  4. Enter at least one email address (or select at least one contact).
  5. Tap Send.

  Note: This feature is not available in the new Evernote for iOS.

• Android

  1. Open the note you would like to share.
  2. Tap the menu button (three dots) then tap Share.
  3. Tap the menu button (three dots) on the following screen and select Email copy of note.
  4. Enter at least one email address (or select at least one contact).
  5. Tap Send.

  Note: This feature is not available in the new Evernote for Android.

• Web

  1. Open the note you would like to share.
  2. Click the downward arrow on the Share button.
  3. Select Email.
  4. Enter at least one email address (or select at least one contact) and include an optional message.
  5. Click Send.

  Note: This feature is not available in the new Evernote Web.
